This recent tragedy is really devastating. I can’t imagine how the victims might feel at this point. Aside from our prayers, we can do our part in somehow lessening the burden that the victims are experiencing.
Help the victims of typhoon Sendong.
Give clothes, food, blankets, money etc.
Share whatever you can especially this Christmas season.

photo from http://giveupgifts.tumblr.com/
I saw this really amazing site from tumblr. A number of people are already appealing that instead of people giving them gifts this Christmas, those who will be giving may just as well donate whatever they can to the victims of Sendong.

LBC has been so kind to provide free shipping for the donations. Mindanao is technically far from Manila and the distance may hinder some donations/help to reach the place in time. Thankfully, LBC is here to help. Godsend!

We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.

at the Heritage Hotel for the Asia-Pacific Social Science and Medicine Conference (say whaaaaaaaaat?)
I can’t imagine college without Kat.
GRABE! you are almost in all my college multiply albums! haha.

Hum2 Fieldtrip!!!
You see, Kat and I spent a huge of our college life together. We are classmates in almost all the classes wherein we are the only BehSci majors in that class. Those days were EPIC. Just say the subject or the prof or that random person whoever, and surely we can go on for hours with our stories.

so nene at the Hale Album Launch haha
Not only do we share the same barkada and the same subjects, we also have a LOT of similar interests that range from music to fashion to various life issues.

with Joy at the Bestsoc tambayan (oh and is that David’s wallet that got lost? hehe)

at the Magic to Remix (magician event)
You know that kind of friend whom you feel so at ease with? whom you feel you can say anything and everything? Kat is that friend for me!

with Noemi, Joy and Jinky in Tagaytay

with Lian and Joy in Alchemy (haha those were the days!)
It’s amazing how much we’ve grown in college no? I love you dear friend! and thank you so so so much for keeping in touch despite the thousand mile distance!

so giddy with Noemi in High Street!
I really miss her sooooo much! See each other soon? :)

Happy birthdaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! cheers to happiness!
ps. oldschool YM conference SOOOOON!

Milk tea is definitely the “It-drink” of the year. There’s Serenitea, Chatime, Zentea, Bubble Tea, Milk tea outlets everywhere! I’m definitely one happy girl because I love milk tea.
One thing I discovered though is the Mine Shine Milk tea (thanks to my officemate-friends!). It’s bottled and can be bought on the ever-reliable 7-eleven store. This is a major-plus as 7-11 stores are everywhere! Moreso, there’s no need to worry if you suddenly had that midnight Milk tea craving right?
Another good thing? It only costs P40.00! Now this might cost a bit more than your bottled iced-tea or what-not but this definitely costs lesser than the Milk Tea which you can buy on the previously mentioned milk tea kiosks.

Mine Shine inside our ref

and on my office desk!
As this one’s bottled, don’t expect to find some pearls (tapioca) nor some red beans (my fave!) on this. Also, this bottled milk tea has a lighter tea taste which might seem not enough for those who really like to have more level of tea on their drinks. Personally though, I like the tea and milk mixture as the sweetness appears to be just right.

So there, 40 pesos for a 600ml of milk tea yumminess!
As we celebrate the feast of the Immaculate Concepcion, today also marks the birthday of 2 Js in my life, my younger brother Joshua and my friend/adventure partner (LP!) Joy! NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKS may blog post pa kayo ah! oha oha!

My youngest brother Jai came 11 years after me and 7 years after Josh so yeah, anyone who has a sibling would probably know how crazy it can be.I guess a lot of people are thinking then that it’ll only be the two of us (Josh and I). I remember we even have our pictures taken at studios when we were kids with Joshua wearing blue and me wearing pink! hahaha classic!
Happy birthday Josh! try mo magtino! :D

JOY! eto yung “UP fair 2009”! haha

I’m really blessed to have Joy as a friend! We’re soooooo alike in several ways. and she’s game whenever I’m up for some adventures or what-nots! I remember during the UAAP Cheerdance competition this year, we arrived in Cubao about an hour before the events starts, WITH NO TICKETS nor any back-up plans! I was really losing hope (hello some people started lining up at around 6 in the morning) but she was positively stating that we’ll find a way. Guess what? we did! a new line (patron seats yooo!) suddenly opened a few steps from us!
Happy birthday Joy! Cheers to happiness! basta, our “dreams” and plans will be achieved! :)
now I have to post birthday blogs na everytime? haha
Oh, and if your birthday is today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOO! may you be constantly blessed and may you see the bright side of life! Cheers to your dreams!
I stumbled upon the movie “Remember Me” last night and it really hit me. I was thinking it’s just another rom-com (which I love of course) and was actually surprised by its ending. You see, what might just seem as another kilig film ended tragically because the guy (played by Robert Pattinson) died in 9/11.

Well, I saw some sites stating it doesn’t have much good reviews but it personally made me realize more the effect that all those terrorist attacks have (and may even be continuing to have) on the victims and their families. You see, in every victim, there’s a whole family and several friends and loved ones who will be impacted. With all the news about attacks and all, it’s easy for us to just see the victims as mere statistics, death-tolls, number of people injured but behind every victim, is whole life ahead of him/her.
I soooooo hate violence! I swear!

So here’s a prayer to all the victims of terrorist attacks all over the world, from the 9/11 attachs to the Rizal day bombing, to the soldiers continuing to risk their lives in Mindanao, in the Middle East and everywhere they may be, to their families and friends, this one’s for you.
If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. -Mother Teresa
I hope I can say that everyday is a bright and thoroughly happy day. However, life as it is is full of stress (stress sa chest!). There will always be some negativity that will come our way. Hey, that’s life!
I stumbled upon Danika Navarro’s blog and saw an entry about things she’s thankful for. This somehow made me think of happy, happy things myself. You see, sometimes, we just have to look at the bright side. Just think of things that make us happy. Below is a short list of things that make me happy, excited, giddy! Happy vibes, positive thoughts, bright side!
1. Breakfasts

For me, it’s not only the most important meal of the day, it’s the best meal of the day. I mean seriously, what’s not to love about good old tapsilog? bacons? pancakes? and pan de sal of course! Perhaps it’s because I mostly work on night shifts but breakfast is really something I look forward to. Now don’t go scientific on me and say that we call it breakfast if it’s our first meal of the day. Breakfast is the meal I eat on the morning regardless of how my body clock goes.
2. the big S (S-A-L-E)

Doesn’t it give you that instant excitement when you see the word SALE? Don’t you? like seriously? especially if you know that it really is such a steal!

I wore this white dress (LWDs are LOVE) at our organization’s anniversary party. I got it on sale from Tango for less than P1,000! 600 pesos to be exact! :)
3. ukay-ukay

*photo of a second-hand shop (that’s ukay!!!) that we saw from our trip in Bangkok
Fine, if you believe that stores only fool you when they go on sale because the sale amount they show is really it’s actual prize or you just can’t find a good buy during sale season, I’m sure no one would deny the pure joy of finding a lovely jacket worth P75.00 from ukay! I was with a friend about a week ago and she was wearing this really nice white maxi dress. How can I be surprised when she mentioned that she got it form ukay? How can I lose faith??? haha
4. Social Networks

I know that it sometimes defeats the purpose as indeed the “personal” side seems to die down. Oh and yes there’s the issue on privacy. Still, communication and connecting to people from all over the globe definitely seemed so easier nowadays. Just don’t rely solely on them okay? :)
5. Work-outs

photo from jbsports.com.ph
I swear! I loooove working out on our company gym! I didn’t realize how good it feels to actually work towards physical fitness. NAKS! It doesn’t have to be a rigorous gym work-out or a pamatay yoga session, one can actually start by running around your village’s park or sa UP diliman!
and fine, I’ll admit it! I don’t regret buying those rubber shoes!
6. Ice cream

It never fails! It can always brighten up a gloomy day!
7. Always working on holidays? hey! companies are required to pay holiday pay right?

Naks libre naman dyan!
8. Reality shows

Pure entertainment!!! perfect with ice cream! haha
9. Dance-able music
Just shoot for the stars, If it feels right, Then aim for my heart, If you feel like, And take me away, make it okay I swear I’ll behave
okay. okay be super thankful that you can’t hear me sing!
10. several simple, little things that just make us laugh! knock-knock jokes? pick-up lines? GO!

I can go on and enumerate several other things but then it might take me all day. You see, there are so many good things in life! why focus on the nega stuff?
When the dog bites, when the bee stings,
when I’m feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
and then I don’t feel so bad.- “My Favorite Things” Sound of Music

For any fashion lover, the Fashion Week is definitely among the most awaited events of the year. Thank God that there are the 4 capitals of the fashion world having at least 2 seasons (Spring-Summer and Fall-Winter collections) each.
In the Philippines, the Philippine Fashion Week is definitely among fashion’s biggest events. I remember I started to attend this 2 years ago. I missed one season though but thankfully got the chance to go again last May.

For the Spring-Summer 2012 collection, I am sooooooo blessed to be part of Luis Espiritu’s styling team. Ain’t he the best? He was tapped to be the stylist for the SM Menswear (10.25) and the Triumph (10.26) shows.
Putting up a fashion show requires such hard work. The preparation can even take months. From the conceptualization of the theme to the casting of the models to doing pull-pouts for other items to use to the rehearsals to the actual show itself, there’s no denying how much effort it really takes.
SM Menswear had their show last Oct 25.

Some pictures from the rehearsals, there’s Director Jackie Aquino providing instructions. yes! JCA Productions were part of both shows! it was so wonderful to be working with them.

Female models Joan Bitagcol, Melissa Frye, Girlie Benitez, Jasmie Maierhofer and Samantha Lewis were part of the “Tuxedo” portion of the SM Menswear show

I swear, Ms Joan Bitagcol is really among the most stylish women in the Philippines. She exudes this effortless vibe and definitely has that identifiable androgynous look.

photo from Teri Marcelo
The SM Menswear show was really a big production with hundreds of outfit sets as the Boys Teen Wear (styled by MGP) and Bo Athletics sections were also shown. There were probably more than 50 (or more) models for the said show including UAAP athletes and some guys from Team Socceroo.

and of course, the latest endorser of Bo Athletics was there! Derek Ramsey!

We were advised to also wear a menswear-inspired outfit. :)

As always, it always feels good to be working with other babies of Luis. That’s me with my FashComm sister Teri.

Eunice, Slegna and Hannah, all smiles during the rehearsals

With Jeanne and Eunice!

Steaming is the bomb!

Checking, checking…
It was really a very amazingly wonderful day. It just feels so good to be surrounded by the people I admire. As I previously mentioned, putting up a fashion show requires a huge amount of effort. Still, I can very well say that everything is worth it.

The collection was great! guys these days are really lucky to have all the choices they have. Plus, with SM they can guarantee that not only are the items affordable, they’re damn stylish too!

The Triumph show was held the day after (Oct. 26). Triumph is celebrating its 125th year.

and Triumph celebrated it with no less than Ruffa Gutierrez for the finale.
*Ruffa in a skirt by designer Pablo Cabahug
The show was so fabulous! Think of fur, black lace, jewelries, etc! I was really tired after the show that I didn’t get to attend another fashion week show. It was the happiest form of tired though :)

One might think that styling for an underwear fashion show would seem like a piece of cake. Believe me, it’s not! There are several details to consider and thus a lot of styling to do.

awwwww has that really been a month ago already? It was such an AMAZING experience!
A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. -Colin Powell
can’t wait to watch the entire show!
I’m so damn excited that I can’t even compose myself enough to organize my thoughts on what I’ll write! If there are things that I’m on the verge of being obsessed about, the VS Fashion Show would definitely be among it. Fashion Shows are among my greatest loves and this is probably one of the coolest. Tons of glitters, feathers, wings, halos and the glamorous and amazing styling (this is art!)are just among the features of this show. Then there’s the most gorgeous models ever (I watch this show everytime I try to work-out hahaha), such amazing performers and much-awaited productions!
First of, NO, I haven’t watched the show yet. I know. SHAME ON ME! I was on training these past days and my body-clock seems to be on its weirdest.
Buuuut, here I am spending the past hours browsing through pictures and articles about the show.
The 2010 show was epic so before I’ve seen the articles and pics of this year’s show, I was actually hoping that they’d get to do even better this year. Seriously, how do you top of Akon (the ‘Angel” song was played in our office for months!!!) and Katy Perry? Well with Adam Levine (with the rest of the Maroon 5), Kanye West, Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj of course!!!

I KNOW RIGHT?!? gaaaaaaaaahd watching this show live would probably be the best life experience ever.

Every year, Victoria’s Secret features million-dollar bra among its massive collection. This year, the ever-stunning Australian model Miranda Kerr was the one chosen to wear it. This Fantasy Treasure bra reportedly costs $2.5 million dollars. This wife of Orlando Bloom (gorgeous attracts gorgeous!) just gave birth last year! Her pregnancy is actually why she missed last year’s show. (and yes husband Orlando Bloom was in the audience)

Another Angel who made a come-back this year is Doutzen Kroes. Doutzen is among Victoria’s Secret top models.

Then there’s the gorgeous (I know overused word? but hey aren’t they?) Brazilians Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima. They really seem to personaify the VS woman.
Oh and those stockings are fierce!!! (can’t wait to wear my Pablo Cabahug for LegLove stokings!)

Among my favorite models is Candice Swanepoel (see? I can even spell her name without cheating! haha). This South African belle is definitely a breathtaking sight on the runway.
The Victoria’s Secert Angels are definitely among my favorite models. Not only do they have to-die-for looks, they also showcase this sort of diversity that actually is something admirable.

Behati Prinsloo definitely brought in the fun! (she’s Coco Rocha’s bestie!)

Chanel Iman having fun in VS Pink.

Orient represent! Liu Wen strutting it away.

Erin Heatherton in red, blue, wings and thigh high boots!

Lily Aldridge all made-up in VS Pink. She just married the Kings of Leon guy!

Izabel Goulart making her presence felt.

Lindsay Ellingson loves VS Pink!

Anne Vyalitsyna showing what she has! (yezzzz such a nice view behind her right?)

Anja Rubik all fairy-like.

Karlie Kloss in the house!
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion won’t be complete without the astonishing performances from various artists (Spice Girls performed 4 years ago!). I will say it again, the Akon-Katy Perry performances last year was so amazing! So, there’s no other way to take it a notch than by bringing in more performances this year right? From what I’ve read, Cee Lo Green was actually supposed to be part of the show this year. Still, there’s Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Jay-Z and Maroon 5!

Kanye West and Jay-Z!!! yup, preggy Beyonce was watching!

Nicki Minaj with Behati showing some love!
and then there’s the sweet things in life…
You see, I was so kilig last year when Adam was cheering for model-girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna so I was beyond thrilled to discover that Maroon 5 actually performed on this year’s show!!! Adam Levine is definitely among the hottest guys alive.

all together now, AWWWWWWW. and he reportedly sang Moves Like Jagger.

One of the main reason why I love this show is actually beyond the wings and the gorgeousness but more on the vibe I get with this show. It just seems so fun and everyone seems to be enjoying it. The models seem to be truly having the time of their lives. Looseing up might be a welcome treat. I know for a fact that putting up a fashion show takes a generous amount of time and effort and from what I saw on the interviews, this show took months to even a year to put up.
Fashion is really a serious business and it just amazes how much energy people in this industry have. Hello, these models might spent hours in the gym to get in shape, behind every wing is probably several hours spent to ensure it looks as flawless as they were and there are possibly several sleepless nights that the production team endured to work on making this show a success.
Indeed, that’s what this show is, a success!
ps. di ko pa napapanood sa lagay nato ah!
